Direct to Film (DTF) Printing is a process that prints full-color designs onto a special film and then heat-presses them onto fabric. It produces vibrant colors, fine details, and durable prints that work on a wide variety of materials, including cotton polyester, blends, and performance fabrics. DTF is perfect for full-color, detailed designs because almost any artwork can be reproduced in any number of colors, while screen printing is limited on number of colors, and detail.
Screen Printing is the traditional method for printing textiles. This method of printing uses thick inks that lay on top of the shirt rather than soaking into the shirt. With screen printing, colors are applied one at a time. If the printed design has multiple colors, the process is repeated using different stenciled screens and ink colors. Thus, each layer of ink color helps to create the final design. Screen printing works best for solid graphics without small details.
